     I used the preceding photo to sketch the outside of the butterfly. I filled in the colors of his wings with digital watercolor/broad water brush and brought out a bit more detail with the watercolor wash cloner. I created a pattern from the original photo with the Kaleidoscope plugin, and filled in the background with the pattern pen. I blended out the original sketch lines with the grainy blender 10, giving a feathery outline to the wings. I framed him here in Painter and used an Impasto brush on the light inner border, the pattern pen again on the outer border, and the Bevel Plugin to finish. I tried not to rely on the cloning too much but I really wanted to produce something nice.........and then I really gave in to temptation...see next page..............
